Suspected sockpuppets

edit

All accounts created within a few minutes from each other and all did post blank lowercase "oppose" votes [1],[2],[3] at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Hawkeye7 3; me smelleth a sock zoo. Requesting CU to see if they are part of another sockfarm or just drive-by disrupters. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 12:10, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • It may be someone we know, but, if so, they have changed technical characteristics. As far as I can tell, all socks (beyond the three here) have been blocked except no-edit accounts, which I will block. I see no point in listing them all. This master is one of the impersonator socks, e.g., Hawkeye seven (talk · contribs · count). Closing.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:16, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm going to amend my comemnts a bit. Based on the CU logs for the IP range being used by these socks, this is not new, and the technical characteristics may be the same. The problem is that any previous blocked accounts are apparently stale, but the logs go back quite a ways with similar rationales. I also should add that it's a very busy range that includes legitimate editors and unrelated socks.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:35, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
